It was a beautiful March day for an engagement session in Bluffton, Iowa. We originally planned on a winter theme for their engagement portraits but the crazy Iowa weather was not working with us, after rescheduling twice this is what we got! I’m so thrilled…it was well worth the wait! We planned out their session to work with their horses and a canoe to personalize it with the things they love to do. You wouldn’t believe all the hilarious obstacles we were fighting against, their dog wanted to hang out with them in the background of the images, the horses were being uncooperative and finally the sun was setting fast and we had to hurry to the water scene. The water was high so the current was moving the canoe down the Upper Iowa River so fast that I was struggling to keep ahead of the canoe without falling in the river. Thank goodness there was no cameras watching this circus act going on (except for the cute family walking above the bridge watching us….giggles).
